Basketball Through My Lens – My Time with the Rostock Seawolves

There are moments that completely take over you. For me, one of those moments is getting the chance to follow the Rostock Seawolves in the EasyCredit Basketball Bundesliga. I’m incredibly excited to be part of this environment, to experience the players up close, and to capture the energy of a game through my camera.

Basketball is fast, intense, and unpredictable. No moment is ever the same—no pass, no jump can be repeated. That’s exactly what fascinates me. With my Sony A7IV and the 24–70 mm lens, I’m right in the middle—ready to capture every decisive moment. Whether a player leaps for the basket, dribbles across the court, or the fans erupt in cheers, it’s about making emotion, dynamics, and team spirit visible.

I love that I’m not just a spectator, but actively part of the action with my camera. I observe, anticipate movements, feel the tension in the game, and try to preserve that energy in my images. The arena lives, the fans live with it, and every play has its own story. My job is to capture these stories—moments that exist only in that instant.

For me, basketball photography is more than sport. It’s emotion in motion, team spirit in action, stories you can see. Working with the Seawolves allows me to experience exactly that: the mix of adrenaline, focus, and pure passion that makes every court unique.

It’s a privilege to be part of this world, to experience the players and the atmosphere, and to share it through my lens. Every moment is fleeting—and that’s precisely what makes it so special.
