MG Cyberster on Rügen – Design, Performance, and Photography in Harmony
This year, I had the opportunity to photograph the MG Cyberster on the island of Rügen—a car that immediately catches the eye. No strict concept, no fixed script—I simply immersed myself in the vehicle and the light.
The Cyberster impresses at first glance: a classic sporty roadster design, clean lines, muscular proportions. The build quality feels premium, the interior modern and functional without being cluttered. Particularly striking is the combination of a light, agile driving feel and responsive performance, noticeable from the very first press of the pedal.
From a photographic perspective, it was a dream: afternoon light on Rügen, wide open roads, gentle hills—perfect conditions for both dynamic and aesthetic shots. I used the Sony A7IV with the Samyang 24–70 mm, which gave me the flexibility to capture tight detail shots as well as full views of the roadster. The focal length was ideal for authentically capturing the car’s lines and proportions without distorting the perspective.
What fascinated me most was how the light sculpted the car’s surface: reflections, shadows, and contours showcased the design perfectly. To me, a car only truly reveals its soul when technology, design, and photography come together—and that’s exactly what the Cyberster allowed on Rügen.
This shoot wasn’t just a test of the camera or the car—it was an interplay between the vehicle, the environment, and my personal perspective. A roadster like the MG Cyberster comes alive in moments like these—and those are exactly the moments I aimed to capture.
